Jose

Modeled after The Enchanted Tiki Room in Disney World's main character Jose, who is the narrator of the show. He is one of Disney's first animatronics that they created. I designed Jose in Fusion 360, and 3D printed his head, body and internals that connect to the motors. I covered him with fur, and feathers, and created a stand with PVC pipe that I painted to look like bamboo. When I hook him up to my computer he moves and looks just like the Jose from the show. The very last picture is a video of Jose talking and moving. I hope you enjoy.

I realized in the first dry fit, that some items needed to be redesigned inside. Dry fitting 2.0

I realized I needed to redesign Jose's feet, so he would straddle the center PVC joint for balance.

After I redesigned his feet to be bigger to go around the thicker PVC joint piece. He sits perfectly.

Made a template to create the line that his fur would butt to, so it would be even on both sides of his head

Painted the line that I traced from the template that I created with paper

Starting to paint his face and feathering, so I had a baseline for reference

Starting to add the fur. I hot glued it to his head, I didn't have a pattern, so I glued & cut as I went
